Canine PACKED RED BLOOD CELLS (PRBC)

Canine Packed Red Blood Cells (PRBC) contain red blood cells suspended in a small volume of plasma and SAG-M nutrient solution.  The buffy coat remains in this product but platelets and leucocytes are not thought to have any therapeutic benefit.

Canine FRESH FROZEN PLASMA (FFP)

Canine Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) is plasma which has been separated from whole blood and frozen within eight hours post collection.  It contains all plasma proteins including the labile and non-labile clotting factors.

Canine FROZEN PLASMA (FP)

Canine Frozen Plasma (FP) is plasma which has been separated from whole blood and frozen more than eight hours post collection or is expired Fresh Frozen Plasma.  It contains plasma proteins including albumin and Vitamin K dependant clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X.

Canine CRYO-PRECIPITATE (Cryo-P)

Canine Cryo-precipitate (Cryo-P) is a plasma fraction which is separated from fresh frozen plasma by a process of controlled thawing and centrifugation.  It is a concentrated product containing the labile clotting factors Fibrinogen (factor I), factor VIII and Von Willebrands factor.

Canine CRYO-SUPERNATANT (Cryo-S)

Canie Cryo-supernatant (Cryo-S) is a plasma fraction which is separated from fresh frozen plasma by a process of controlled thawing and centrifugation.  It is the remaining fraction after cryo-precipitate has been produced.  It contains plasma proteins including albumin and Vitamin K dependant clotting factors II, Vii, IX and X.

Canine Fresh WHOLE BLOOD (FWB)

(is administered within four to six hours post collection)

Canine Fresh Whole Blood (FWB) contains red blood cells, platelets, leucocytes and all plasma proteins including the labile and non-labile clotting factors.  (Not held, stock available by pre-order only)

Canine Stored WHOLE BLOOD (SWB)

(is administered more than four to six hours post collection)

 Canine Stored Whole Blood (SWB) containes red blood cells and plasma proteins, however it is not a reliable source of platelets, leucocytes or labile clotting factors Fribinogen (factor I), factor VIII and von Willebrands factor. (Not held, stock available by pre-order only)
