The Role

Award-winning animal charity, Pet Blood Bank UK, is recruiting for the newly created post of HR Administrator which will support the Managing Director with day to day HR and office administrative activities.  Based in Loughborough, this is an ideal opportunity for someone to further their HR career in an unique environment.

Background

Pet Blood Bank UK is the only charity of its kind that provides a canine blood bank service, helping to save the lives of many loyal companions across the UK. Similar to the human blood service, donation sessions are held nationwide for large dog owners to bring along their pets to give blood. Now in its 11th year, the charity has over 9,000 canine donors registered and growing at an exponential rate as media attention increases.  The candidate will be based at the Pet Blood Bank offices in Loughborough.  

The Candidate

With the ability to work closely with the management team, the successful applicant’s primary role will be carrying out all day to day HR and office administration duties. You will ensure all PBB HR policies and procedures are followed including recruitment, new start staff induction, co-ordination of holiday requests and absence management.  You’ll also assist with facilities, supporting the MD to ensure the Loughborough office, and use of the PPB car, is managed appropriately.  As a newly created role in the organisation, this is an excellent opportunity to help shape the setup of a new HR management system and support line managers and staff alike with establishing of processes and procedures.    

You’ll hold a Level 3 Certificate in Human Resources Practice (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate strong administration and communication skills, ideally within an HR environment.  The need to deal with confidential and sensitive issues appropriately is essential, as is the ability to work in a timely and organisation manner – a love of dogs would be hugely beneficial too!  Some travel is expected therefore it is essential you hold a clean, full driving licence

This role is full time, working 37.5 hours per week.  Working hours and pattern will be discussed in more detail at interview. The position also attracts 30 days’ annual leave (inclusive of public holidays).
