The role

Animal charity Pet Blood Bank UK is recruiting for the position of a part time Distribution Assistant. This role will support the Distribution team, which is responsible for the storage and distribution of all Pet Blood Bank’s blood products. The role will be based in Loughborough working Monday – Friday 12pm-5pm and emergency on call.

As part of our charitable remit, our aim is to advance animal health and welfare and to relieve suffering by providing quick and convenient access to blood. What you’ll do
  • Carry out a full range of blood packaging techniques on whole blood and its components, as well as ancillary products.
  • Prepare and maintain packaging materials to ensure packaging is readily available to dispatch blood products and consumables.
  • Ensure all items are prepared and packaged in time for dispatch.
  • Ensure packaging and distribution facilities are always kept clean and tidy.
  • Assist with other tasks within the Distribution department
  • On an emergency basis, take part in our on-call rota for product supply and distribution.
What we need

This is an assistant role within our Distribution team, which requires both the ability to work alone and as part of a team.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Happy working alone and able to manage time and tasks effectively
  • Has strong attention to detail
  • Good practical and organisational skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working in a practical role
  • Proactive and enthusiastic
  • Holds a full UK driving licence

Salary - £19,500 (FTE) We also offer pay progression based on length of service.
