The Role 

Award-winning animal charity, Pet Blood Bank UK, is recruiting for the position of Session Administrator. Session Administrators are responsible for providing support to Pet Blood Bank departments and teams through the day to day running of the office and undertaking administrational duties for the Donor Admin Team. As one of the first points of contact for our customers, donor owners, and general enquiries, they ultimately play a vital role in ensuring enough blood is collected to meet demand from our veterinary customers and provide excellent customer service to all involved with the donation sessions. 


Launched in 2007, Pet Blood Bank UK is the only charity that provides a blood bank service for all vets across the UK. As part of our charitable remit, our aim is to advance animal health and welfare and to relieve suffering by providing quick and convenient access to blood. Every unit of blood helps save up to four other lives, saving thousands of lives every year.

What you’ll do 
  • Process registration forms for prospective new donors and make first contact with owners. 
  • Ensure all communications including letters, mobile app communications, emails and documentation is sent out in a timely and professional manner to owners and venues. 
  • Answer and make phone calls, manage email, text, and mobile app enquires from dog owners. 
  • Monitor the department email inbox and ensure timely responses.  
  • Support the marketing team with the transfer of donor photos to be added to social media. 
  • Follow up requests from clinical team after sessions. 
  • Support the Session Coordinator to ensure sufficient donors are booked into donation sessions in line with the KPI targets. 
  • Use Pet Blood Bank computer systems to maintain donor records. 
  • Send out requested information packs and promotional materials. 
  • Record and where appropriate escalate feedback from owners. 
  • Play an active role in the Donor Admin Department and office by answering telephone and email enquiries and undertaking general admin tasks. 
What we need 

This role is an interesting blend of customer support and general administration office duties.You’ll be a meticulously organised, confident and empathic communicator with a professional and friendly telephone manner, used to dealing with different people…from vet surgeons to dog owners!  

We’re looking for someone who has: 

  • The ability to deliver high-quality customer service to ensure a professional and positive donor experience. 
  • Experience of handling diverse office and administrative responsibilities with precision. 
  • A proactive and enthusiastic outlook, with the resilience to problem solve and make decisions. 
  • Empathy with the pet-owning public and respect for donor welfare.
