The Bramble Craddock Award

Winner: Sharwood

Sharwood has been a loyal blood donor since 2017, and with the help of his dedicated owner, Sue, he's donated every single time he's visited - an amazing 43 times so far, making him our current highest donating dog. These donations have helped save the lives of up to 172 other dogs!

Sharwood's incredible achievement has earned him a place in the Guinness World Records and made him a finalist in Crufts' prestigious Hero Dog Award. His story has inspired countless others to register their dogs, so his impact spreads far beyond the donations he has made.

Runner-up: Orla

Orla is a wonderful dog who has donated 12 times (and counting!). She's also a passionate promoter of Pet Blood Bank, attending events like DogFest and Crufts to spread the word, sharing her blood donor story through Professor Noel Fitzpatrick's Animal Stories, and spreading the word to everyone she meets. Last year, she also completed 40 different walking challenges throughout the year for 40 different charities, an incredible achievement.

The Real Award

Winner: Jools Brammer and Maverick

Jools and her wonderful dog Maverick are incredible supporters of our charity. Jools has been helping us set up our new venue at Eden Vets. She's worked so hard to recruit more dogs and even put together little packs with leaflets, yummy treats, and instructions on how to register. Her dog Maverick supports these efforts, wearing his lifesaver bandana everywhere he goes to spread the word. He has donated 12 times so far, helping to save the lives of up to 48 other dogs.

Runner-up: Gemma Anderson

Gemma works at our host venue, Copeland Veterinary Surgeons, where she goes above and beyond to support us. She takes great care of our donors, making sure they always feel welcome and looked after at every session. She also encourages clients to register their dogs and works with her colleagues to spread the word about us.

The Pioneering Award

Winner: Sue Mitchell

Sue constantly goes above and beyond for Pet Blood Bank. For years, she has travelled to donation sessions every eight weeks to ensure her dogs donate as often as possible. She's done countless media appearances to raise awareness and promotes us far and wide through all the clubs she is a member of, as well as spreading the word in her local area.

Runner-up: Elaine Reid

Elaine is a dedicated supporter who has been attending donation sessions, fundraising, and spreading the word for years. Her dogs have collectively made over 100 donations and she has given up countless hours of her time to support us.

The Caring Award

Winner: Nick Fountain

Nick is known by everyone on a first-name basis and that says it all! He has volunteered at over 200 donation sessions, generously giving his time and energy to support the charity. From helping our team behind the scenes to giving owners and their dogs the warmest welcome, Nick travels far and wide to attend sessions and events, helps raise vital awareness and funds, and is always championing Pet Blood Bank in any way he can.

Runner-up: Karen Brogden

Karen is a dedicated volunteer who supports sessions and events across the country, always bringing warmth, kindness, and a helping hand wherever she goes. Karen also brings her own dogs Paddy, Gunnie, Kali, and Jonno to donate. Together, they’ve made 45 donations, helping to save up to 180 other dogs’ lives.
