We’re really sorry, dogs who have received a transfusion are unable to become blood donors. This is because they may have developed antibodies in their blood that could cause a serious reaction if that blood was donated and given to another dog. We understand that owners whose dogs have received a transfusion often want to give back so there are plenty of other ways you can help us!

Does your dog wear a prong collar? *

Yes

Please note that you will need to use a flat or round collar on the day of donation and for 14 days after donation. This is due to the high risk of rebleeding, bruising, or damage that the prongs could cause to the donation site on your dog’s neck. Our vet will check your dog's neck for inflammation as part of our pre-donation health check, if there are any signs of inflammation, your dog will be unable to donate.
