The role
We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative Quality Compliance Officer to join the Pet Blood Bank team on a 6-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover).
In this role, you will work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practice principles are consistently upheld, identifying and investigating any instances of non-compliance.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will lead the non-conformance process, ensuring timely reporting, thorough investigation, and effective risk assessment and containment. You’ll partner with departments and managers to implement and monitor corrective and preventative actions, contribute to quality meetings, and support continuous improvement across the quality system, all while demonstrating a strong commitment to donor welfare and the organisation’s charitable aims.

What you’ll do
- Coordinate and oversee the non-conformance and deviation processes, ensuring all issues are promptly reported, recorded, and managed through to resolution
- Investigate non-conformances and deviations by liaising with internal teams, gathering evidence, and maintaining accurate documentation
- Conduct risk assessments, implement appropriate containment actions, and escalate concerns where necessary
- Lead root cause analysis and work with departments to implement and monitor timely corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs)
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and tracking systems for non-conformances, deviations, and related quality activities
- Produce and deliver regular data analysis and reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly) to support decision-making and continuous improvement
- Support organisational changes through the Change Control process, ensuring updates are effectively implemented and documented
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and readiness across the organisation
- Collaborate with the Training Team to support improvements and ensure changes are embedded across individuals and teams
- Act as a Quality Ambassador, promoting a culture of compliance, high standards, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation
- Contribute to the wider Quality Team, supporting key activities and ensuring the smooth running of the department
- Provide cross-functional support as needed to ensure effective delivery of services, including occasional operational duties such as office opening/closing and adherence to driving guidelines when required
What we need
This is a key role within our Quality Team, focused on ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
Essential
- Quality qualification and/or relevant experience, including root cause analysis
- Strong understanding of quality processes and problem-solving tools (e.g. 5 Whys, fishbone)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience in data analysis and report writing
- Strong administrative, organisational, and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, including remote communication, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- High attention to detail with a meticulous and professional approach
- Proactive, self-motivated, and positive, with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in compliance management and negotiation
- Knowledge of pet blood banking
- Passion for animal welfare
