The Role 

Animal charity Pet Blood Bank UK is excited to further expand their Loughborough team and are actively recruiting for a Distribution Assistant.  The role holder will manage the selection, packing, and dispatch of a wide range of Pet Blood Bank products, including blood components, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and maintaining the cleanliness of our facilities.

What you’ll do 
  • Replenish packaging supplies and prepare coolants for blood packaging, reporting issues to management.
  • Package blood products and consumables following SOPs, ensuring order accuracy and timely delivery arrangements.
  • Assist in stock management, temperature monitoring, and maintain clean, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) -compliant facilities.
  • Support various tasks including waste disposal, cross-match services, and emergency blood product distribution.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure operational efficiency and excellent communication.
What we need

It’s crucial that the role holder is able to select the correct blood products to match customer requirement, so strong attention to detail is absolutely vital for success. Some packing/warehouse experience would be beneficial.

Further details

This role is full time, working 27.5 hours per week, 11am – 5pm. There may be some requirement to participate in the on-call rota of supply and distribution of blood products, as set out in SOP on an emergency basis only.
